an Egyptian film and television director whose career spans more than four decades in the Egyptian entertainment industry. Born on February 28, 1955, in Cairo, he graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema and began his professional journey working alongside renowned filmmaker Salah Abu Seif before establishing himself as a director.

Al Aasar launched his directing career in the mid-1980s with the feature film A Deal with a Woman (1985), followed by Deadly Dream (1986), which he also wrote. Throughout his career, he collaborated with many of Egypt’s leading stars, including Nour El Sherif, Faten Hamama, Nabila Ebeid, Hussein Fahmy, Adel Adham, and Mervat Amin. His filmography includes notable films such as The Fall, The Devil’s Gate, Suspicious Relations, The Escape to the Summit, The Disappearance of Jaafar Al Masry, and Sea Digger. He later became widely recognized for directing successful television dramas, including Wajh Al Qamar (Moon Face), Aunt Nour, Mowaten Bedaraget Wazir (Citizen with the Rank of Minister), The Black Box, and Kingdom of Youssef Al Maghraby.

In addition to his directing achievements, Adel Al Aasar founded Al Asar Films, a production company that contributed to several Egyptian cinematic productions. His work earned critical recognition, including the Best Director Award at the Alexandria Film Festival for the film The Fall. Today, Dr. Adel Al Aasar remains one of the prominent figures in Egyptian cinema and television, known for his contributions to both commercial filmmaking and television drama, as well as his role in shaping generations of visual storytelling in the Arab world.
