
Dr. Haitham Karam is an Egyptian film and television editor, academic, and post-production specialist with extensive experience in drama, documentary filmmaking, and television production. A graduate of the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University (Class of 2004), he began his professional career in editing in 2006 and has since contributed to a wide range of acclaimed Egyptian productions.
Throughout his career, Karam has worked on numerous successful television series and film projects, including Al Sayyad (The Hunter), Zarf Aswad (Black Envelope), Shahadet Milad (Birth Certificate), Bayn Alamayn (Between Two Worlds), Ana Shahira… Ana Al Kha’en (I Am Shahira… I Am the Traitor), Ekhtefaa (Disappearance), Darb Nar, Rahba, and Ritsa. His editing work is recognized for its strong narrative rhythm and contribution to the visual storytelling of contemporary Egyptian drama.
In addition to his work in scripted productions, Dr. Karam has edited and supervised numerous television programs and documentary projects, including educational, cultural, and historical documentary series. His expertise extends across post-production management, documentary filmmaking, and broadcast content development.
Dr. Haitham Karam is also an active academic and educator, teaching film and television editing at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, as well as at Ahram Canadian University. His contributions to both the industry and academia have helped shape a new generation of media professionals in Egypt.
In recognition of his achievements, he received the Creativity and Excellence Award for Best Drama Editor from the Egyptian Cinema Professions Syndicate in 2018 for his work on the acclaimed television series Ekhtefaa (Disappearance).
